With COVID-19 derailing last years spring competitive soccer season, players from around the region missed their opportunity to get on the field, lace up their cleats and be with their teammates. Many of these same players missed out on their final opportunity to put their uniform on as they have now aged out of the program.
Organizations across the state have worked tirelessly to bring sports back safely, including NH Soccer Association in the NH Soccer League.
"The New Hampshire Soccer Association is excited to welcome back all our players, coaches, referees and fans for another great spring season in the New Hampshire Soccer League," said Rusty Wightman, NHSA President. "Our commitment to the safety of all our members is paramount and we look forward to seeing you all out on the pitch soon!"
Prior to the COVID-19 break, Revolution United participated in another competitive league within the state, however not seeing the results or competition the teams came to expect.
"Competition, fairness, league leadership and what the players will get out of playing are all things that are part of our decision when choosing a league to participate in," said Cory Halvorsen, Executive Director of Revolution United. "This season is no different, but one thing is certain, the steps that NH Soccer Association has taken to create a culture that truly includes all players of all abilities and levels of play is the organization that we want to be a part of."
The NH Soccer Association is the governing association over the NH Soccer League, which is made up of club members throughout the state to help guide the decisions with league director, Ryan Joy.
"While all clubs may not agree on every decision that is made with the league, the goal is for the kids to be able to continue playing soccer at an affordable cost, increasing their skills, and having fun at the same time," Halvorsen said. "The LOC has done a fantastic job of putting the players first and having that direct line of communication with the clubs."
NH Soccer Association has seen its fair share of challenges over the years with a tough competitor, for profit, US Club Soccer coming in to challenge the playing field that once was primarily controlled by non-profit, US Youth Soccer. There were a few years that were challenging and disrupted the market, but sense things have settled to the point of normalcy and the focus being put back on the youth athletes.
NH Soccer League has created opportunities for hundreds of teams across New Hampshire since it was founded, for ages U8-U19 boys and girls in multiple divisions. The NH Soccer Associations supports this by providing opportunities in their various state, regional and national tournament series each year.
During the down time of 2020, Revolution United restructured the programs that were offered, how they were run and the opportunities that have come through for all age groups. In February 2021, it was announced Revolution United will now have opportunities for ages 3-19, with the Mini Revs programs for ages 3-6, the Pathway to Competitive Programs for U8, and the competitive soccer programs for U10-U19.
"In working with Cory, we wanted to create a new opportunity for our players that aged out of Mini Revs, and were too young to join our U10 programs. With the creation of our Pathway to Competitive U8 program, we have put together 3 additional teams this season and believe that this program will continue to grow," said Lucas Therrien, Program Director.
Revolution United is entering their 10th year in competitive soccer and a proud member of NH Soccer Association and US Youth Soccer. For more information on Revolution United and their programs, visit revsunited.com

During practice Kylee listened and practiced her foul shots and worked very hard on her layups. When practice was over she asked if she could stay after and work on her layups and foul shots. On Saturdays double header she hustled up and down the court and out rebounded all of her team mates and close to out rebounding Altons's team. In the second game she did not slow down she hustled up and down the court even after she smashed her knee and then later in the game she hurt shoulder.
