The cold and rain will not stop the Revolution United U20 girls. As this team and Head Coach Shane Flood headed into Memorial Day Weekend, they didn't take the weekend off but instead entered into the 28th Annual Amherst Soccer Club Memorial Day tournament. This tournament is one of many taking place this weekend but one that sees hundreds of teams across multiple states, and from multiple clubs to get some great competition.
The U20 Girls team played some impressive soccer through the cold and rain this weekend and have remained undefeated earning a spot in the finals against an impressive Central Maine United team. Central Maine represents 12 varsity programs in the Central Maine Region. "They're an impressive team with an unbelievable amount of speed," said Coach Flood of the opposing CMU team. "We will definitely have our hands full." Revolution and Central Maine met up on day one of the tournament with Revs coming out on top with a goal in the last few minutes of the game. Monday's final should expect much of the same play. Revolution United and Central Maine United will compete in the final for the Amherst Memorial Day Tournament at 1:00pm at Souhegan High School.

Coming back after the COVID-19 break from last spring, Coach Jayme Kennedy's team has been ready to get on the field together and based on this season's results, they haven't missed a beat.
"The kids have come ready to play every day. They're hungry and eager to put in the effort it takes to win games," said the Head Coach. After much of the state took last spring season off, nobody knew when they next time teams would be back on the fields again. Having gone through an adjusted school soccer schedule to keep travel and contact to a minimum, some teams went back to their indoor seasons. However, like many would express, the spring soccer season was still missed by coaches, players and fans. The U14 Revs team has come back strong with a current record of 4 Wins, 1 Tie and 0 losses. "Starting the season 4-0-1 in a tough division is a great way to start any season. Our offense has put together some great opportunities in the first four games leading to 15 goals. I've been very happy with our defensive play and our goalies have been able to handle the task of seeing some tough shots from our opponents," coach Kennedy said. "Jayme and his players have come out strong again this season. There is no doubt the players are bought into Coach Kennedy's style of play and they are showing it on the field," said Cory Halvorsen, Executive Director for Revolution United. "With just 3 games left in the regular season I am sure we will continue to see them at the top of the table going into playoff weekend." The remaining games will continue to be a challenge heading into the back half and nowhere to let down against some very talented teams in the league. "Three games left so that means 3 tough opponents left. We're taking it one game at a time with a goal to make playoffs," said Kennedy. "I want to see the kids keep being relentless and working hard. Keep playing together as a team and have that never give up attitude." The Rev's are scheduled to play in Derry, who is currently the number 2 seed, after the Memorial Day Weekend break.
