Alton, NH- Revolution United are excited to announce Coach Joe Perry will be leading the High School Boys U19 team this Spring! Coach Perry started his coaching career locally as the Junior Varsity Boys Coach at Prospect Mountain High School. Not long after that, he was coaching Liverpool’s Youth International Academy team in Los Angeles. Perry has obtained his Grassroots 11v11 coaching licensing through US Soccer.
Perry comes with a great deal of soccer knowledge. “I was lucky enough to play for Revolution United for 5 years. During that time, I was surrounded by excellent teammates and coaches that helped me grow on and off the field,” Coach Perry said. After winning a state championship with the Prospect Mountain Varsity squad, he played college soccer, followed by playing semi-pro for the New Hampshire Rapids. As a player turned coach, Perry understands different aspects of the modern game. “As a coach I think it's important to have clear expectations for your players and yourself. Once you have that down, you need to have the ability to communicate those expectations clearly, so you can hold your players accountable and they can do the same for you,” Perry stated when asked about what his coaching philosophy was. “This is the next step we wanted to take to elevate the player experience within the U19 division,” said Lucas Therrien, Program Director. “To not only have a chance to learn from someone with a vast knowledge of the sport, but also learn from a positive role model on and off the field who will encourage fair play, sportsmanship, all while working together as a team.” Coach Perry looks forward to what the future can hold for his team and the players within the club. “I'm excited to see my players take their next steps in their soccer careers. Whether that be moving on to college, or stepping up their skill level, there are few things more rewarding as a coach than seeing your players improve.” Improvement is a very important focus for Perry, as he looks to prepare his players for their futures. Beyond that, Coach Perry has also expressed interest in 1-on-1 sessions for all ages, as well as clinics for all of Revolution United’s players. Keep an eye out for more information regarding potential sessions with Coach Perry! Cheer on the 2003 Boys team this Spring as they look to take on the Varsity North division of the NHSL.
