Dear Revolution United families,
This message comes to you with mixed emotions as I am sure we have all experienced over the last several weeks. Many of us over the last few weekends have been enjoying the beautiful weather, sunny skies and great soccer temperatures hoping that we would be on the soccer field. Many parents have reached out to us directly with encouragement as we all did what was needed behind the scenes to make sure if we had a season that we were ready to move quickly. Unfortunately as of this positing, we have received official word that the NH Soccer League and the NH Soccer Association have made the difficult decision to cancel the spring 2020 competitive soccer season. This is the first time in the history of Revolution United that a spring soccer season has been cancelled and know that it hurts us as we are all parents of players as well. For some, this would have been their first season playing competitive soccer and for others, this was officially their last season of playing for the Revs organization as they will officially "age out" of these programs. No matter which way you look at it. it is very disappointing. As families, we have all gone through quite a bit in the last several weeks and still do not have a clear picture on what the "new normal" will be and what that will look like. We know that our very first goal will always be to keep our families safe so we can see you all back on the fields as soon as possible. We have players within our club that are current seniors at high school, and missing their important memory making events. We have 8th graders that aren't getting that chance to officially "step up" to enter the high school like many before them. Everyone has gone through changes, and I believe everyone wants to push forward and see the Revs families back together again. Over the next few weeks, we will be putting out information on refunds and credits for the spring 2020 season and how that will all work. In the meantime, there is a lot of information you can find here to answer questions you may have (SPRING FAQ's) We ask that you please hold off from emailing or calling during this time as we assure you all of our planning that has gone into this will ensure all families are accounted for with their registrations, and we want to make sure that nobody is missed. Lastly, to our volunteer coaches, administrators, equipment and field directors, I want to thank you all for once again stepping up to make sure we were ready and on standby to try and get this season to go forward. Please know, there was still a lot of work behind the scenes going on from coaches joining zoom calls, to registrations and player cards being at the ready, and rosters being finalized. This is all done 100% by our great volunteers. Just like many other clubs, we always have expenses going into a season. This year, we purchased a new set of goals, nets, and field paint just to get prepared for our continued growth and to continuing investing in our club and players. Some have reached out to express their interest in making a donation to the club. While it is certainly appreciated please understand that we want to make sure your family is taken care of first. We have put ourselves in a position where we will continue to be fair with our registration fees, be able to create new opportunities with our partnerships, and continue our growth for success for our players on and off the field for many years to come. I hope you all remain safe and healthy and truly hope we will see you all on the fields again very soon. Sincerely, Cory Halvorsen Executive Director Director of Coaching, Soccer
