Earlier this morning, the club was made aware of a Revolution United player who had passed away last night. The family has asked that we sent out a brief statement and to pass along a message to our Revs families.
While Revolution United reaches hundreds of families across many different communities across the state, we may not all feel the immediate impact of a loss of a teammate. Not all situations will become news or hit the pages of social media, but it is important that the support for all affected remains the same and a top priority. Just like our club and community had done just a few short years ago, it is always important to remember what you can do for someone's life whether you realize it immediately, or if you don't see it until years down the road. Losing a loved one will never be easy, remembering the role you once played in their life is sometimes the greatest memories you have.
The family has asked for privacy and ask that we do not share further specifics at this time, but we do ask that we all take a moment to reflect on this difficult time and hold them in your hearts.
From the family they asked that this quote be shared as a reminder of what youth sports can do for a child who is struggling in many different ways, and how being United can make a difference.
“I could not be more thankful for the friends I have made over the years playing soccer and basketball, as without them, I would have been nothing years ago.”
As always, please keep everyone in your thoughts and remember, you can help make a difference in someone's life; today!
