Successful Weekend for the Revs

For Columbus Day Weekend, teams from both Revs United and Revs City participated in the Capitol Cup tournament for the first time. Teams played some great soccer, resulting in strong wins or close matchups. Take a look at the results of the 9 participating teams, and how they did.

2018 City Boys • Champions

In their inaugural season, the 2018 City Boys team, lead by Coach Manseau, went undefeated this weekend to win the tournament. Throughout all four games, they only conceded one goal, while scoring 19. Notable wins over FC Stars, Nashua YSL, and Bow SC lead them into the final against an undefeated Lakes Region United team. They were able to shutout LRU while netting two of their own, making the final a decisive 2-0 win.


2016 United • Champions

The United 2016 team, lead by Coach Estey, won their respective championship over the weekend, with hard work to beat a team that had given them a challenge earlier on in the tournament. Estey's team opened up with a 1-1 draw with Lakes Region United. After that, they did not allow a goal, beating Nashua YSL and FC Exeter by a combined score of 13-0. After that, it was time to head to the final against the same Lakes Region United team, who they ended up defeating and winning the championship!
Coach Estey was very proud, stating that his team of 9 was able to to handle teams that were physically bigger than them, as well as adding that it was a positive experience for the team.


2012 United Boys • Champions

The 2012 Boys team, lead by Coach Therrien, finished as champions in the U14 Boys division. They started the weekend off with a 1-1 tie against FC Exeter, followed by a close 3-2 win over Ellsworth. Their third game, they lost 1-0 to Lightning SC. Based on goal difference, the boys advanced to play the same Lightning team in the final just an hour after the first ended. After a back and forth battle, the deadlock was broken with 12 minutes left in the second half, and the game was seen out to win the Championship 1-0 over the strong Lightning side.


2014 City Boys • Finalists

The 2014 City Boys, lead by Coach Hildum, had a strong showing this weekend. After winning their first game 2-0 over Londonderry SC, they were defeated by Windham SA by a score of 4-2. To get into the final they tied FC Exeter to put them a point clear of Londonderry. They went to the final against the same Windham team that they had lost to, and managed to tie 2-2 in regular time, bringing them to a penalty shootout, which ended 6-5 in Windham's favor.


2012 City Girls • Finalists

The 2012 City Girls, lead by Coach Spring, finished the group stage of the tournament in first place. They beat Nashua YSL 1-0 and Windham SA 4-1 in their first two games, and tied Raymond SC 0-0 in the third game. They then went to the final against Raymond, which ended in a 2-0 loss for our girls. They battled hard all weekend, and managed to get through the group stage undefeated.


2012 City Boys • Finalists

The 2012 City Boys, lead by Coach Feldman, made it to the final over the weekend after finishing the group stages with a record of 1-1-1. They started off their weekend with a 6-2 win over Mount Washington Valley SC, followed by a 1-1 draw with Bow SC. They wrapped up with a tough game against Londonderry, who they also faced in the final on Sunday evening. They fought hard, but ended up falling in the final as well.


2011 United Boys • Finalists

The 2011 Boys team, lead by Coach Bemis, made it to the final in the tightest division that any Revs team played in. The first, second, and third spots all finished with a record of 2-1-0, all sitting on 6 points. the boys made it into the final based on the head-to-head tiebreaker, beating out the Rams 1-0 in their second game of the tournament. They also played Windham to a 3-0 win, and fell to International SC 5-2. The 2011 Boys ended up facing that same International team in the final, and fell to them in a tight 3-2 game.


2014 United Boys

The 2014 Boys team, lead by Coach Halvorsen, had a strong weekend, finishing the tournament undefeated. The team started off with a commanding 10-0 win over FC Exeter, followed by a close 4-2 win over Derry SC. On Sunday, they played for the top spot in the division with Amesbury Dragons, and tied 1-1. Amesbury advanced with the edge in goal difference. The 2014 Boys, despite not making the final, still had a great showing and competed right up with the eventual champions of their division.


2011 City Boys

The 2011 City Boys faced a hard group of opponents this weekend, but persevered to the very end. The boys played against Oyster River, Become Elite, and Goffstown United SC. They had a strong third game, losing 2-1 in a tight game with Goffstown, who is ranked 15 spots higher in state rankings.
