** For Immediate Release **

Revolution United is pleased to announce our official partnership with Alton Parks & Recreation. After several meetings and conversations with the Alton Parks & Rec Director, Kellie Troendle and after approval from the Alton Parks & Rec Commission, it was approved that Revolution United will be the official partners for soccer and basketball.

"When I founded Revolution United in 2011, it was the goal that we would have a strong feeder program for the soccer teams at Prospect Mountain High School and to be able to build the relationships with the athletes at a younger age, and not just starting freshman year," said Cory Halvorsen, Executive Director of Revolution United. "Now more than ever, the bonds between the students from Alton and Barnstead are stronger than ever, and our programs continue to see more and more growth to work together as one community school rather than two separate towns."

In 2017, Revolution United took on recreational basketball in Barnstead under the name of Revolution United Basketball. During the season, the club identified several areas of opportunity, especially with league scheduling, timeliness of communication from the league, referee concerns and more. This year, the club has started having conversations with the league about offering our assistance in scheduling, having schedules posted online for parents, players and coaches to review, as well as many more improvements. The club is also working on a new partnership on the basketball side for players who are looking to advance their skill set.

"This partnership with Alton will be key to the the greater success of the basketball programs at the high school, by giving an opportunity for Alton basketball players to join an organized program once again, that includes not only training but also games to work on what they have learned in their training sessions," Halvorsen said.

Revolution United has named long time Prospect Mountain Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Rick Burley and Boys Varsity Coach Joe Faragher as advisors to Revolution United Basketball to help with the player education, advancement and pathway oversight to those interested in playing at the next level.

"We are very excited about this next step to bring these two sports to their top level and bring the communities together in a proven pathway of success," added Halvorsen.

More details will follow for registrations for the soccer program through Alton Parks & Recreation in the coming weeks. Any paper forms sent into the parks & rec department are still valid and do not need to be cancelled. This is a partnership effort between the club and Alton Parks & Rec and will continue to work with Kellie to coordinate with coaching staff, players, etc. The club has some exciting ideas for a pre-season soccer jamboree with the two towns and to ensure plenty of practice opportunities and space for all teams to be successful.
